Lloyd Sotherden

April 27, 2008 Lloyd Sotherden, 81, of Clay, NY, died at home on Sunday, April 27, 2008, with his family by his side. Lloyd was born in Syracuse. He was a life resident of Clay. He was an electrician for Alpha Portland Cement Co., Jamesville, retiring in 1979. Lloyd also worked for the Clay Highway Department, and he retired from there in 1989. Lloyd was a Navy veteran of World War II; he was a member of the American Legion Post 787 Cicero. He was a member of Clay Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and Clay Volunteer Fire Department. Lloyd is survived by his wife, Pauline Freeman; two sons, Timothy (Beth) and James (Dale) Sotherden; two daughters, Patricia Redhead (Bruce) and Tamala Haber (David Galloway); eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two stepgranddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Clay Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Route 31, Clay, NY. Burial will be private. There will be no calling hours. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Central New York, 990 7th North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088-6148. Funeral arrangements are by Williams Funeral Home, Cicero, NY 13039.
